Mick Stanic, Principius founder and the co-founder of The Podcast Network appeared on Australian national TV yesterday to talk about podcasting and The Podcast Network.

The five minute interview on The Today Show, one of the most popular morning television shows in Australia presented on the Channel 9 network, allowed Mick to reach an expected audience of close to 1 million people and to introduce them to the concept of podcasting and The Podcast Network.

"It's not often that a start-up business like The Podcast Network gets the opportunity to present itself on national TV...especially when it’s based on a technology like podcasting that is often referred to as a traditional media killer" said Stanic.

The Podcast Network was started by Mick Stanic and Cameron Reilly in February of 2005 and has been recognised as the first commercial podcast based network in the world.

Mick goes on to say, "The interview has helped to raise not only the exposure of TPN, but also the knowledge of a great emerging technology that has many uses in the marketing and the communications space. As a result of those five minutes, we have already received a number of emails enquiring about advertising on the network and also about the use of podcasting as a marketing tool. It looks like all of our recent exposure in traditional old-school media has helped to awaken the ad industry to podcasting's possibilities."

A copy of the interview in both a video and audio format can be found at the TPN network info site at The Podcast Network site.
